In one year, Georgia Southern University's Admissions Office has gone from just surviving the Hobsons EMT integration to maximizing recruitment efforts with the product. Customizing Connect for Beginners: Graduate School Edition

Marcus Hanscom, Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions for the University of New Haven, in West Haven, Connecticut, will discuss how the Graduate Office has defined its data needs to leverage Connect to formulate a process to effectively manage its students. You will learn strategies to create work flows in order to develop attributes and customized views that will be report and communication plan driven. Communication Plan Strategy: Using Message Customization Effectively
Marcus Hanscom, Director of Graduate Cohort Recruitment from the University of New Haven Graduate School, shares insights into using message customization effectively. The University of New Haven has developed a blended communication strategy using both a push (email) and pull strategy (VIP page) to provide relevant and timely customized messages. After the presentation we will provide technical training to review specifics regarding data collection and storage, filtering, and use of customization within context of writing VIP content.

Using EMT Connect to Improve Applicant Conversion

Mark Ingarfield, Team Leader of the Centralised Enquiries Team at the University of Liverpool, looks at the way the Student Recruitment and Admissions Office has used EMT Connect as part of an integrated undergraduate conversion campaign. He focuses on how the transfer of UCAS application data into Connect is used to target those students yet to make a firm choice. Note that this session will be very UK-specific, focusing on applicant communications rather than enquirer communications. Mark’s presentation will be followed by a training session on conditional letters and mailings.
